We just finished shooting an amazing short film called GAME this past weekend (produced by the Bridge Award winner Angus Swantee, and written and directed by Josh MacDonald). A very ambitious shoot, it went perfectly well with blow-your-mind visuals. Marc came in doing special effects make-up and other practical effects. He is very professional and his work was above and beyond what we expected. He is efficient ad had everything that was needed for the shoot well ahead of time. In short, we couldn't have done it without him and I personally wanted to thank him. I highly recommend his work, both from a film point of view, and also, due to his background as a medic in the military, he is ideal for setting up and coordinating medical simulation scenarios. When I put a call out on Kijiji for someone to help me create a Devil for my film project, I did not expect to have Marc Deveault answer that call. One look at his work on this site, and I knew that very moment this man could bring my Satan to life. He loved the concept from jump street, and he was up for the challenge and a challenge it was. We were only given two weeks to create film and edit this project, which gave Marc a Week to mold, shape and create our Devil. A true professional through and through Marc gave me a solid quote, a time line and what materials were needed to make it all happen. from concept to final product Marc kept me informed and up to date on a daily basis, I trusted him emphatically on anything he chose to do, because I knew it would only benefit the project. When it came to filming day Marc was a solid influence and help on many aspects other then the make-up his tip to use blue lighting to help the blood show up on film was essential for a scene we were having trouble with and his tip really made the scene pop. The proof is in the pudding, not matter what the cost if you pay this may what he needs, he will give you what you want and make it look better then you imagined I look forward to working with Marc again because for me there is no other SFX Artist. Dans le cadre de mon travail au centre d'instruction des Services de Santé des Forces Canadienne, nous avons fait appel à Trauma-Sim pour un concept original, de bras fictif en silicone, pour facilité l'apprentissage aux étudiants en technique médicale et leur permettre de pratiquer diverses techniques de soins et mèchagage d'une plaie. I had the pleasure of working with Marc during our Paramedic Education for Multi-Casualty Simulation exercises. His work of the victims is seen throughout this website. The Paramedics that were doing the training kept stopping to touch the make up and were heard saying throughout the exercise, "Holy S**T, that looks real!" Most of them started to take pictures with their personal cameras and phones, just to show their friends. Marcs' work added a real element to the exercise that I would not have been able to achieve on my own. I am looking forward to working with him again soon!
